798 Photo Gallery Ξ A young Chinese photographer contemplates time. Liu Xiaofang creates quiet worlds where the viewer is invited to observe from an intimate vantage point, almost as if they are looking through a key hole.
We float through deserts, oceans and skies following a fragile child-like figure, possibly representing the artist herself. Her compositions are reminiscent of dreams, where a fragile figure of a girl wearing a red scarf appears to be suspended in austere landscapes not subject to the laws of physics. Water pours from the sky in a condensed stream, the desert unravels in an unending sheet of cracked ground, and clouds float past fractured facades.
